Abstract
Based on the writer's experience as an English teacher, some of her students find difficulties in writing narrative. They have a lot of ideas in their mind, but they cannot decide what they want to write. Therefore the writer was interested to find out whether the picture series can improve the ability of the tenth grade students' of SMA Ta'miriyah Surabaya in writing narrative text This research used experimental research. The subject of this research was X.4 students as control group and X.6 students as experimental group. The objective of this study to find out whether there is significant different between the students who have been taught writing using picture series and students who have not. The result of this research shows that there was any sinificant different between the two groups in writing narrative text. That was also proven through the calculation of T-test. Since t-test result from t-value was higher than t-table, it means there was significant different and picture series have given some effects in improving the students' ability in writing narrative text Based on the research, it is concluded that writing narrative through picture series brought the students to new kind of sitiation. It would help both the teacher and the students to revise the students' writing and made more fun than the way it used to be.
