Abstract
Most of Robinson's poetry apparently expresses the existenc e of human being individually. I choose ten poans that apparently express such the theme clearly. All of them depict a figure of human beinc and his. problem individually. The description of individual is emphasized by the use of person name as the title. horeover soae of those names can be interpreted and actually those int erpretations depict the characteristic of those charactem. This study is intended to analyze the charact eristic of Robinson's poetry that is known as "New Poetry". His poems are written in traditional style but present some new ideas. His poetry still follows the traditional terminits format such as : the format of stanza, those ten poems have various forms that are including sonnet, quatrain , sestet and octave ; all poems have the rhyme scheme, all poems follow the use of prosody that all of them use the iamb as the basic foot combined with other feet to avoid mono tony.
