Abstract
Dental caries in children has become a health problem in many countries including Indonesia. it is a multi-factorial disease that involves tooth structures, oral microorganisms, dietary carbohydrates and the environment. Bad eating habits in children usually become the cause early childhood caries. Nursing bottle caries are commonly occurs in children under age of three years old. The massive number of nursing bottle caries cases in children make it seems as a normal condition. The use bottle feeding is frequently due to the misunderstood eating habit in children. Prevention and treatment of nursing bottle caries should be done to reduce its prevalence and to increase the children quality life. Children who have caries in their primary teeth during infancy or as toddlers tend to develop additional decay in their primary teeth during their pre-school years. Mother plays am important role on preventing dental caries in their children.
