Abstract

Shouryaku is a word that is abbreviated with a way to shorten or abbreviate the parts of the word. Shouryaku often made to avoid the pronunciation or writing of a long word. The phenomenon of the use of shouryaku the more often found, especially in the online media twitter uploaded by one of the members of AKB48 Takahashi Minami. The use of shouryaku by young people is considered cool and fun, while for those whose age is advanced it is considered difficult because it is not able to follow the development of these languages. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method of analysis. Structure formation shouryaku in the book wakamono go o kagakusuru described there are 12 way of formation. Of the 28 data dinalisis that in the structure of its formation involves a 12-way formation shouryaku by the way is the largest geryaku that shorten by removing words at the end. Type of shouryaku most commonly found in the data is a type of cut word by removing a syllable at the end of the section (geryaku), with a percentage of 53% or a 15 data. Based on the overall data, it can be seen that in the online media twitter uploaded by Takahashi Minami, the use of shouryaku a lot happening on the absorption words from the English language.
