Abstract
This final report aims to find the methods translation and idiomatic expression applied in translating novel entitled Peaky Blinders The Real Story by Carl Chinn. The writer gathered the data by reading the novel, and used translation methods and idiomatic expression. The writer used translation methods theory by Peter Newmark and also used idiomatic expressions theory by Chitra Fernando. As the result, the translation methods used in translating novel entitled Peaky Blinders The Real Story by Carl Chinn are wod-for-word translation, adaptation translation, free translation and literal translation. For the idiomatic expressions, there are two idiomatic expressions used in translating novel Peaky Blinders The Real Story by Carl Chinn, those are pure idiom and literal idiom. In conclusion, the use of translation methods and idiomatic expression gave basics and fundamentals in translating novel in order to make the result as natural as possible and understandable for the reader.
