Abstract

The Temple of The Golden Pavilion is a novel written by Yukio Mishima, one of the most significant writers in modem Japan. It deals with a young man named Mizoguchi, who was born stutter and physically unattractive, and he is obsessed by the beauty of the Golden Temple. As long as he lives, he must deal with several conflicts, which comes from the internal and external of him. The study is focused on the character in the novel and it will be related to the psychological condition of the main character. The intrinsic approachcharacter, plot, and setting is used to analyze this novel. Beside, the psychological approach is used in analyzing the psychological conditiou of the main character in the novel.
