Abstract
Knowing what translation styles and strategies that should have been used in translating tourism promotion leaflets is important because not all translation styles and strategies can be used in translating tourism promotion leaflets. Using wrong translation style or strategy can really make the result of translation become different with what the translation result was supposed to be. The writer found out there were nine translation strategies used in translating tourism promotion leaflets; they were omission, addition, borrowing, subtraction, synonym, depreciation, expansion, transposition, and culture equivalent. Furthermore, the writer found out there were three language styles used in translating promotion leaflets; they were familiar language, simple vocabulary, and informative. These language styles and translation strategies helped the writer in translating tourism promotion leaflets from source language structure into target language structure.
