Abstract

Identity is an essential thing for a person to claim his existence among the society. Annette Upfal's Beyond The Dreaming depicts a struggle of an Aboriginal man to build his identity both in White society and Aboriginal community. Toby Redmond, the main character, becomes a representative figure of Stolen Generation. It refers to Aboriginal children who are taken or stolen from their families.
