Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate analgesic activity of the 80% ethanol extract of M. crenata leaf. This study used writhing method on 36 male BALB/c mice, divided into six groups. The results showed that, the four-dose extract groups showed a decrease in mean number of writhing compared to the negative control group, so it can be concluded that the four-dose extracts have an effect as analgesic. The results of the protective perceatment group I (2,25 mg / 20 g BW mice) and treatment group II (4.5 mg / 20 g BW mice), respectively, are 62.50% and 70%, while the percentage of treatment group III (6,75 mg / 20 g BW mice) is equal to 76.25%. The protective percentage generated by treatment group IV (9 mg / 20 g of mice BB) that is equal to 83,75%, showed the highest percentage among the other dose group of extract Keyword: Marsilea crenata Presl., analgesic activity writhing test
