Abstract

Introduction: The brest cancer incidence has increased recently. Breast cancer patients usually feel inconvenience, psychology impact, and unstable emotion. Family support can influence breast cancer patient quality of life. The purpose of the study was to analyze the correlation between family support, emotional regulation, and resilience of breast cancer patients in Surabaya. Method: This study was a cross-sectional using stratified purposive sampling. There were 104 patients participated in this study. Data was carried out using a self-administered, Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire, and Connor Davidson Resilience Scale-10. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistic and Spearman’s Rho test. Result: This study showed that the majority of family support has moderate level (41.8%), emotion regulation was high (54.8%), and resilience of respondents was high (66.6%). There was significantly correlated between family support and resilience (p=0.42, r=-0.200). Besides, correlation between emotion regulation and resilience in breast cancer patients is significant (p=0,037, r=0,024). Discussion: Family support and emotional regulation was correlated with resilience in breast cancer patients. The further research need to asses the family knowledge as the contributing factor.
