Abstract

Early childhood teacher’s academic qualifications have been regulated in Permenpan No. 16 2007 to ensure the quality of learning. However, there are still teachers with non-linier academic qualifications. This study aims to examine the influence between personality on the creativity of early childhood teachers with non-linear academic qualifications. This study uses John and Srivastava’s Big Five Personality theory (1999), and creativity based on Cropley’s theory (1997). This study uses a quantitative approach with purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this study were active Early Childhood Teacher who did not have a degree in PAUD/Psychology with total of 54 teachers in Buduran, Candi, and Sukodono District, Sidoarjo. The measurement tool in this study uses the Big Five Inventory (BFI) adaptation of Ramdhani’s (2012) according to Indonesian culture and language with a reliability value of 0.940, and Creativity Fostering Teacher Behavior Index (CFTIndex) with reliability values of 0.970. Data analysis in this study used multiple linear regression techniques with IBM SPSS Statistics 21 program. The regression shows that there is an influence of the personality (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience) on the early childhood teacher creativity by 83,5%, while the rest are influenced by other variables outside of this study. The regression test results separately shows that the extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness for experience are significantly influence the creativity of early childhood teacher. Meanwhile, neuroticism did not show a significant effect on the creativity of early childhood teacher with non-linear academic qualifications
