Abstract
Most people consider bullying to be a common thing in friendship without its harmful impacts and risks, so that children do not get enough knowledge and children are at risk of experiencing or becoming bullies. This study explains the effect of character education using snake and ladder media on the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of school age children to prevent bullying in Tuban. Methods: The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design and using probability sampling techniques as many 94 respondents with 50 respondents in the intervention group and 44 groups of respondents including students aged 10-11 years. This study uses three research instruments, a questionnaire of knowledge, attitudes, and actions. Both groups will be given the same pre-test, then the intervention will be given different treatment from the control group which is only given information or character-based education with leaflet media. Results: The results of the study using the Mann Whitney U Test at the p-value were 0.000 (p <0.05), indicating that there were differences in knowledge, attitudes and actions in the treatment and control groups after being given character education through snake and ladder media. in the prevention of bullying behavior. Conclusion: Character education using snake and ladder media can change level of knowledge, attitudes, and actions of school age children in Tuban in preventing bullying behavior. Therefore, the character education method through the ladder circle media can be alternative to improve children's knowledge, attitudes, actions school age.
